BiForm Composite Decking: Our Honest Review
When it comes to creating an outdoor space that looks beautiful and lasts, homeowners often ask us which decking material we recommend. After recently completing another BiForm deck we thought we should share our thoughts.
At Trendset Build, we only stand behind products that perform well for our clients - and BiForm does this.
What Is BiForm Composite Decking?
BiForm is a solid composite decking board made from a blend of recycled wood fibres and recycled plastic. It has been designed specifically for New Zealand conditions, including high UV exposure, heavy rainfall, and the temperature variations our homes endure.
Many homeowners choose BiForm because it offers the look of timber without the ongoing upkeep.
Why We Like Working With BiForm
1. Clean, Seamless Finish (No Visible Screws)
BiForm uses a concealed clip system, meaning the surface has no visible screw heads. This gives the deck a smooth, high-end appearance that instantly modernises any outdoor area.
2. No Warping, Twisting, or Movement
Composite products can sometimes expand or shift over time - but BiForm has proved stable over time.
3. Zero Ongoing Maintenance
One of the biggest advantages of BiForm is how easy it is to live with. Unlike timber, it doesn’t need:
Oiling
Staining
Sanding
Regular upkeep
Once it’s installed, your deck is good to go for years with no maintenance other than the occasional wash.
4. Designed for NZ Conditions
BiForm is engineered to handle New Zealand’s harsh UV conditions and moisture.
This makes it an excellent choice for homeowners who want a long-lasting product that won’t fade or deteriorate quickly.
Is BiForm Decking Made in New Zealand?
A common question we hear is whether BiForm is NZ-made. While the product is designed and formulated for NZ conditions, the manufacturing appears to be offshore.
What matters more to most homeowners, though, is that BiForm holds a BRANZ Appraisal (No. 680) — meaning it has been independently assessed as compliant with the New Zealand Building Code.
Would We Use BiForm Again?
Absolutely. We are confident recommending it to clients who want:
A modern, premium-looking deck
A product that won’t move or warp
A clean finish without exposed screws
A low-maintenance outdoor living space
BiForm delivers on all of these — and we’ve had great experiences installing it.
